Baby advice blog setup for a nursery shop
Baby advice blog is the blog platform of a renown online nursery shop Hello Baby Direct; based in London, UK. The primary goal was to convert the blog as much close as the main retail shop existed. We were also responsible to make the blog accessible to major browser used most.
TwentyTen as theme platform
One of the main requirement of this website conversion; was adopting TwentyTen as the core theme for WordPress. They were using a simple custom WordPress theme which was not meeting their business goal. We made some custom changes right into the TwentyTen theme. We also included different functionality like featured images, custom post types, W3 Total Cache to make the site easier for visitors to maximize readability.
Upgrade to latest WordPress version
We upgraded the website to latest WordPress version available now. It was using version 2.7; when we started working on this website. As the site already had more than 70 posts; taking backup and transfer them right into its place was important. We made sure every previous contents are running as it was before.
Compatible with major browsers
One of the main focus of this website was browser friendly integration. The theme we developed is giving same view on major browsers like IE8, Firefox 3+, Chrome and Safari. We used common HTML and CSS codes used by these browser. This browser accessibility made users available on browsers they have.
